Sci-Fi renews Stargate Atlantis for a 5th season.

Wow, that was quick, wasn't? Very cool news, though.

Okay, back to paper. *rolls eyes*

Heya, this is just a random thought but it just occured to me that I have no idea when the new Stargate Atlantis season will premier.

The third season premiered around this time last year but since there are no preemptive squees and discussions on my flist I'm assuming that this year Sci-Fi is going to start airing later?

Der Movie Park Germany in Bottrop-Kirchhellen wird in der kommenden Saison 2007 um eine weitere Attraktion reicher. Momentan laufen die Arbeiten an dem neuen Themenbereich auf Hochtouren. Ein Bestandteil soll dabei der Bereich "Stargate Atlantis" sein. Der Zuschauer wird sich der Beschreibung nach in einer Art 3D-Kuppel befinden. Mithilfe von 3D-Brillen und Sitzen die auf einer speziellen rotierenden Plattform in der Kuppel angebracht sind soll sich der Fahrgast in einer beeindruckenden Simulation rund um die Serie verlieren.

Der Film für die Show wurde mit den Atlantis Hauptdarstellern in Vancouver gedreht und soll später sogar in Form einer Doppelfolge in die Serie mit einfließen. Zur Eröffnung im nächsten Jahr werden auch einige Darsteller der Serie erwartet.

Oh Gott! Der Moviepark ist ganz in meiner Nähe - vielleicht 30min von hier! Mein Bruder hat mir noch erzählt, dass die schon ein Stargate in Orginialgröße da stehen haben (und seitdem will ich da wieder hin) aber DAS?

How typical is it that right when I get into a show it gets cancelled?

SG-1 won't be renewed for an 11th season.

However Stargate Atlantis will so I guess that's something. Even though I'll probably miss Cameron, Sam and Daniel (sorry I just don't like Teal'c :-) ) more than I would miss the SGA cast.

Oh dear, the original Stargate movie is on the telly!

Also, just saw SGA 3x03 and aaaaaw, Carson :-) What a fangirl :-)

So, recently I'm under the impression that there are quite some few people who complain about the characters in the Stargate universe, or the way things are going, how characters develop - or not - and frankly, I can't understand that.

To me, both SG shows are fun shows. I watch them for *gasp* entertainment. I've never expected to see great, new, mind blowing shows, pushing the limits of television. I've never expected to see broken characters that are constantly fretting over their lives. I've never expected to see story arcs that make you question religion, politics, or your own existence.

There's other shows for that, which I also watch happily.

But Stargate's become my "relax television". My fun shows. Give me an entertaining plot, a little snark between the characters and I'm happy. I never thought season two of SG:A was worse than season one. I don't think season three is even worse than that.

They're just... oh, I dunno,...fun?

Had I not fallen in love with that show somewhere in the middle of episode three, I would have then. The LOVE!!!

So, I thought "Hey let's watch one more SGA episode before you're off to class!" and put in 1x10 The Storm - not knowing it's a damn "to be continued" episode and I can't watch the second part now because I need to get ready for class and I'm DYING to see how it turns out/ends/whatever.

ARGH! Why does this ALWAYS happen to me?

Hm, so if a marketplace seller says "DVD is an EU Import - Cover Might Be In A Different Language" does that mean the DVD menu will be, too? It says at least apart from the cover the DVD will be identical to the German version. It better be. Cause I just can't see me fiddling myself through a French or Italian menu...
