Oh Noes! Teh Dilemma!
(Told you there'd be spam)

So right now I'm debating with myself whether I shuld attempt an English multi chapter fic or not. Hm. Maybe I should practise a little more with one shots. *argues with herself*

And did I mention it's only 22°C here? Yaaaaay!

And isn't the third season of Stargate Atlantis starting tonight?

(Reply) (Parent) (Thread) (Link)
[identity profile] charinezandor.livejournal.com on July 14th, 2006 09:58 am (UTC)
also.. falls du spontan heute zeit hast... ;o)

If you feel passionately enough about your story idea you feel like you will finish it, I`d say go for it. Posting never-finished stories is meeeeeaaaan. :(

And if you write one chapter after another, it`s not that different from writing one shots. Be brave. Like Dean. ;)

Heh...well I'll try to finish the German one first but I might start collecting plotbunnies for a multi-chapter fic :p

Yay Dean!!!! (Okay HAD to say that...as long as I still can, BEFORE season two... *sigh*)

Aww, I`ll always say "Yay, Dean", no matter what happens to him in the show. He shall forever remain my noble little Wooblet. *g*

So it's cooling off there as it warms up here, I gather. They forecast 35 for Sunday! Yow!

I'm guessing you can motivate yourself to write in English faster than I can learn to read German.

And a little bitty something is on its way to you. I mean, it's not as cool as the badger, but you can't get badgers all the time.

O_O

It'll get warmer here again, though. I think it's just a temporary break from the heat the Gods granted me for, you know, studying so hard :-)

*lol* Not necessarily :-)

Oh?

*whines* Me wants badgers. Loads. *sniff*

Be careful or I'll send an authentic Wisconsin bright yellow foam cheese hat. They call us cheese heads, here in Wisconsin, because of all the cows, so someone made a business out of selling hats that look (kinda) like cheese. The scary part is, people buy them!

Well, people buy miniatures of Neuschwanstein Castle, too so... ^^ (Not that Neuschwanstein is ANYWHEE near me. But they sell replicas at the Rhine Valley. Which isn't ANYWHERE near Neuschwanstein, too. But you know...seems like a lot of foreign tourists don't know that. It's like "YAY! TYPICALLY GERMAN!" --- )

Well, from this great distance, Germany is all just one, far-away, fairly foreign, place. South, north, whatever. I didn't recognize the castle by name, but three seconds with google to get a photo led to me saying "oh, that one!" Besides, I think to the limited extent Americans have any notion of "typically German" in our heads it's more Bavarian than anything else. Why I don't know.

Is there such a thing as a non-ugly miniature? It is possible to tourists to be non-ugly. Sometimes.

Definitely. You know the good thing about Europe is that everything's pretty close to London :-p

I think to the limited extent Americans have any notion of "typically German" in our heads it's more Bavarian than anything else. Why I don't know.

Because the Bavarians think they're better than the rest of Germany anyway, and when they migrate to the US they probably only tell of Bavaria...or something. And because it's sooooooooo romantic there (some might say kitschy). Actually I saw on the telly the other day that there's a friggin' Bavarian village somewhere in Oregon. With the painted houses and everything. And then they complain that when German tourists visit they point their finger and giggle. Oh well.

Is there such a thing as a non-ugly miniature?

I have a red doubledecker bus one. It's purdy!

It is possible to tourists to be non-ugly. Sometimes.

I have yet to meet one I think :-p

München is what the native Bavarians call it. You know, the ones still living in caves - who wear furs instead of actual clothes and still fight with spears :-)

Speaking of Bavaria, I saw these guys selling roasted nuts at the air show yesterday. I cannot even try to explain this, other than to note that I live in a crazy country.
