Little Rant Caused By Me Being Ill And Having Too Much Time In My Hands...
...I mean, even more than usual. :o)
1) The only bad thing about Supernatural is the lack of actually up-to-date websites. I tried to find the air date for the newest ep but alas no luck. At least I finally did dig something up on a general website. And it says Scarecrow will air before Faith, that's just great because I really really really want to see Faith. Meh.
2) Re-watched X2 yesterday. This must possibly the only film I can't watch in English. First, Ian McKellen's voice. I mean, I can easily watch Hooligans and not think of Elijah as Frodo, or I can watch Lost and not think of Merry but when it comes to Sir Ian, he'll always be Gandalf to me. Maybe it's because everyone else slightly altered his accent, but he just spoke the way he always does and it's just - Gandalf. So that had me giggleling several times. And else?
Please, dear US film makers, I know this is a difficult concept for you but the next time you need a character from Germany, why not actually cast someone from Germany? We have brilliant actors here, I promise. That fake German accent of Nightcrawler is possibly among the worst I've ever heard, and it's not much better when he talks in German. Plus, no one would say "Gehen sie raus!" when upset like that. Heavens. (And while we're at it? Please, dear "Lost" crew, cast actual Bretons and Australians, even for the supporting roles. Even I can hear their accents are fake)

I'm less sniffy today, thankfully, instead I've developed a slight cough. Well, it's a nice excuse for me to do nothing but watch shows and films. :o)
Randomly - did anyone else's eyes water at the end of the "The Doctor Dances" episode from season one of Doctor Who?

As far as I know January 10. And yeah, it's probably Scarecrow. Which is kinda weird considering they're airing the promo for Faith.

If I had a little more ambition, I'd try turning that into the title of a song parody. :-)

*g* You see, I slash them, because I *really* believe they love each other unconditionally. It's not just blood and expectations.
I could imagine Sam respects Dean as a good hunter which he doubtlessly is but on the real "emotional" level? Does he think Dean is a good, caring person who is terrified of being left behind?
The question is, is that really important? *g* And yes, I don't think that Sam sees Dean completely either (neither does Dean see Sam entirely), that's what I meant with he still has to grow up. But then I also think, that Sam respects their differences. And afterall you usually love people because they are *different* from you *g*
I think he kind of sees his father mirrored in Dean,
yes, that might be indeed the case .. on a subconscious level. Even though I also have to say, I don't see it on the show (Asylum ignored).
or maybe Dean brings back those memories of him being the "freaky" kid who didn't get the extra cookies. (Am *I* still on topic? *lol*) Dean is part of a life he desperately wanted to leave behind.
Yeah, but the thing is, leaving it behind is not really an option, is it? And there we're back to Sam growing up...
Don't you? To me it's kind of obvious, really. Dean probably took care of Sam all his life, possibly a lot of the times when their father went missing.
Maybe? that's fanon to me. We never saw that on the show.
He's used to give the orders. He probably "inhertited" their father's authority.
If you look the boys working together, Dean is not giving more orders than Sam does. (That's what I meant with "I don't get it.") Sometimes Sam follows along and sometimes Dean does. They're equals really. The difference is the reason why they are doing the things they do - but this difference is mostly an illusion if you ask me.
To him it's clear that they need to follow their father's orders. Maybe Sam even belittles Dean because he never stood up to his father but always did what he said. It's hard to explain, but for some reason I can really connect to Sam on that level.
Yeah, I get that, too. And yes it's there... The thing is, since we've never seen the past, it's hard to say why Dean acts the way he acts. If he's really just Daddy's soldier, or if he actually does it for his own reasons (to save people, because he actually does care a lot more than he lets on.)
And he doesn't want to be like Dean who (in his opinion) only does what he's being told. It doesn't matter if Dean actually does boss him around.
But's that what Sam mainly accused him of - of bossing him around. I mean, he wouldn't just shoot him for following daddy's orders..
Just to make sure - you're talking about the actual gun trigger, right?
yep.
I thought that was pretty good, actually.
oh, it was. I really enjoyed it. Except for that trigger thing.
I think it was way better if Sam would have put down that gun, that would have been lame.
Yeah, but that also means that Sam *wants* Dean dead. Which is creepy. And OOC if you ask me.
What I think is way more interesting that Dean didn't even give him a loaded gun - he didn't trust Sam.
LOL! how, true. But then I guess Dean has better survival instincts than Sam. And if you had the choice, would you have given him the loaded gun? Up to that point, he couldn't have been sure if it was still Sam or if he was indeed possessed. So he probably had to go with "possessed". (But god, must it have been devastating finding out later that Sam was indeed still Sam.)
I mean, Dean is like an open book
Yeah it's kind of endearing, really.
*g* yes, though I also think, it's Jensen. His acting style is always very "readable".
You're not telling me baby Sam had sex with his mother, do you? .o)
LOL! No, I'm not. That's actually the hole in the theory. Except, if you think that babies can love unconditionally, too.
btw, did you ever read the genderbending fics?
