Little Rant Caused By Me Being Ill And Having Too Much Time In My Hands...

...I mean, even more than usual. :o)

1) The only bad thing about Supernatural is the lack of actually up-to-date websites. I tried to find the air date for the newest ep but alas no luck. At least I finally did dig something up on a general website. And it says Scarecrow will air before Faith, that's just great because I really really really want to see Faith. Meh.

2) Re-watched X2 yesterday. This must possibly the only film I can't watch in English. First, Ian McKellen's voice. I mean, I can easily watch Hooligans and not think of Elijah as Frodo, or I can watch Lost and not think of Merry but when it comes to Sir Ian, he'll always be Gandalf to me. Maybe it's because everyone else slightly altered his accent, but he just spoke the way he always does and it's just - Gandalf. So that had me giggleling several times. And else?

Please, dear US film makers, I know this is a difficult concept for you but the next time you need a character from Germany, why not actually cast someone from Germany? We have brilliant actors here, I promise. That fake German accent of Nightcrawler is possibly among the worst I've ever heard, and it's not much better when he talks in German. Plus, no one would say "Gehen sie raus!" when upset like that. Heavens. (And while we're at it? Please, dear "Lost" crew, cast actual Bretons and Australians, even for the supporting roles. Even I can hear their accents are fake)

/rant

I'm less sniffy today, thankfully, instead I've developed a slight cough. Well, it's a nice excuse for me to do nothing but watch shows and films. :o)

Randomly - did anyone else's eyes water at the end of the "The Doctor Dances" episode from season one of Doctor Who?

As far as I know January 10. And yeah, it's probably Scarecrow. Which is kinda weird considering they're airing the promo for Faith.

I can't say that they did, no - one of the best bits with Chris Ecclestone is when he is....oh wait, you haven't seen the episode yet, I don't think. I'll wait a while until you've seen it yourself to tell you

Yeah but you know, it's a promo for whole January so they probably decided to pick the highlight...

And thanks! :o)

Darn it, January 10? That's AGES away ... :O)

Only two more episodes to go I think... or three maybe?

Naaaw when Nancy was reunited with little Jamie again? (And the name made me crack up when I first heard it) That made me shed a tear or two :O)

I'm not even home then. For me it will be January 14. *bangs her head against the wall*

I can't remember how many to go, but just so you know - the last one is AMAZING

Yeah but for YOU it'll be only 4 more days till Faith then :O)

Okay so right now I'm watching Boom Town or whatever it's called and I so think that "fat" alien in woman disguise actress should be casted as Dolores Umbridge. I think only two more eps to go then. Bad Wolf and the last one.

[identity profile] glorfinniel.livejournal.com 2005-12-27 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
You REALLY need to see the last one. Perfect.

By the way, did I ever tell you about that thing on TV starring David Tennant that I was going to watch? he played a bastard stalker in it and was brilliant!

No? *envies*

A bastard stalker?

[identity profile] xkatjafx.livejournal.com 2005-12-27 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! Okay, that's another way to look at it.
Still, 18 days until I get to see Sam and Dean again. That's. Really. Too. Long.

"he'll always be Gandalf to me"

If I had a little more ambition, I'd try turning that into the title of a song parody. :-)
(See this (http://www.guitaretab.com/j/joel-billy/9376.html).)

Yes, it was called Secret Smile - it's a long story....so to speak. Kind of complicated, but he used his Scottish accent in it, and he was such a bastard, and he was brilliant

*snorts*

That'd be great! Actually at this year's FilkCon I-don't-know-who sang a Snape song called "He'll always be a bastard to me" :p

14 for me then. Or 15, really, considering our sloooooow internet speed. *rolleyes*

This is actually one of the very few shoes I've seen lately that really gets better by the episode.

Scottish accent + bastard?

I'll be in my bunk :p

Heh :)

Well, it's not so much the speed than the fact that the torrent certainly isn't up before 5am on the 11th *g*

(hey, glad to see I'm not the only one who produces really stupid typos ; )
And well, I'm not sure it's really getting better - it's just that basically I'm so in love with the boys that I pretty much don't really care if the plot jumps the shark.

But damn, I'm looking forward to them playing priests. That will be fun. (And probably produce nice fanfic *g*)

Yeah but even then it probably won't have finished downloading before 10pm. If I'm lucky.

You kidding me? I invented them :p

And well, I'm not sure it's really getting better

Actually I think it is. Because in each episode more gets revealed about how they see each other and how messed up they truly are. Like it's piling up or something.

And my two cents? I think Sam is the key.

By then I'm usually working *sigh* Except for the 14th *g*

Okay, yes they're getting better character-wise... (even though they could be a little bit more subtle sometimes - for my taste). The plots themselves are still ... foreseeable *g*
And well, I'm really not looking forward to Sam becoming Cordelia. Really, I could have lived without the vision thing.. (and I'm *so* not looking forward to the pain.)

And my two cents? I think Sam is the key.

I thought so, too. Though I've also read a spoiler that said their mom is not the only one who burned - so maybe it's not Sam after all.

Well I'm not watching it for the plot. Like I said a long time ago with Lost - I don't care for the mystery stuff there, either. And still, I think Supernatural is a lot more subtle than other shows, and a lot more authentic characterwise... I mean just think of Dawsons CReek where they talk absolutely EVERYTHING through and reveal their feelings and word everything so perfectly *rolleyes* I'm really grateful for the "no chick flick moments" vibe.

Agreed. But maybe they won't mess this up.

But the man was standing bent over his cradle. And in "Home" - did you realise he said EXACTLY the same thing to the little girl his father told Dean?

[identity profile] lisande.livejournal.com 2005-12-27 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
That was Nemesis, and he has done that one in his spot last year, it was great!!! And it's "He's always a bastard to me" btw...

Oh, X2... I SO love the scene in the beginning where Nightcrawler attacks the president - accompangied by "Dies irae, dies illa" - I can't imagine any other music in that scene!
I remember sitting in the cinema - and when the music started I nearly ripped of my husband's arm, because I was so exited when I recognised it.
(And he went all "Huh - what? What song?"
ARGH.

:-)

[identity profile] lisande.livejournal.com 2005-12-27 07:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Btw, I'm happy that you're feeling better!

*is watching DC S6 right now* because OMG, CJ! *melts into a puddle of goo*

*snaps out of fangirl mode*

Otherwise, I wouldn't mind them talking some more... because, well, I don't know, in my family there is definitely more talking - and more "buggering" until everything is out in the open.)

Agreed. But maybe they won't mess this up.

I certainly hope so.

But the man was standing bent over his cradle. And in "Home" - did you realise he said EXACTLY the same thing to the little girl his father told Dean?

No, he did say what exactly?

The thing that always bothers me about that man is - that it looks a lot like Dean. (And make of that whatever you want.)
