Little Rant Caused By Me Being Ill And Having Too Much Time In My Hands...
...I mean, even more than usual. :o)

1) The only bad thing about Supernatural is the lack of actually up-to-date websites. I tried to find the air date for the newest ep but alas no luck. At least I finally did dig something up on a general website. And it says Scarecrow will air before Faith, that's just great because I really really really want to see Faith. Meh.

2) Re-watched X2 yesterday. This must possibly the only film I can't watch in English. First, Ian McKellen's voice. I mean, I can easily watch Hooligans and not think of Elijah as Frodo, or I can watch Lost and not think of Merry but when it comes to Sir Ian, he'll always be Gandalf to me. Maybe it's because everyone else slightly altered his accent, but he just spoke the way he always does and it's just - Gandalf. So that had me giggleling several times. And else?

Please, dear US film makers, I know this is a difficult concept for you but the next time you need a character from Germany, why not actually cast someone from Germany? We have brilliant actors here, I promise. That fake German accent of Nightcrawler is possibly among the worst I've ever heard, and it's not much better when he talks in German. Plus, no one would say "Gehen sie raus!" when upset like that. Heavens. (And while we're at it? Please, dear "Lost" crew, cast actual Bretons and Australians, even for the supporting roles. Even I can hear their accents are fake)

/rant

I'm less sniffy today, thankfully, instead I've developed a slight cough. Well, it's a nice excuse for me to do nothing but watch shows and films. :o)

Randomly - did anyone else's eyes water at the end of the "The Doctor Dances" episode from season one of Doctor Who?

As far as I know January 10. And yeah, it's probably Scarecrow. Which is kinda weird considering they're airing the promo for Faith.

And thanks! :o)

That was Nemesis, and he has done that one in his spot last year, it was great!!! And it's "He's always a bastard to me" btw...

Oh, X2... I SO love the scene in the beginning where Nightcrawler attacks the president - accompangied by "Dies irae, dies illa" - I can't imagine any other music in that scene!
I remember sitting in the cinema - and when the music started I nearly ripped of my husband's arm, because I was so exited when I recognised it.
(And he went all "Huh - what? What song?"
ARGH.

Hmmm I dunno whether I made myself clear enough. Of course there is love and respect but - to me it's more the "we're related so I have to" level.

*g* You see, I slash them, because I *really* believe they love each other unconditionally. It's not just blood and expectations.

I could imagine Sam respects Dean as a good hunter which he doubtlessly is but on the real "emotional" level? Does he think Dean is a good, caring person who is terrified of being left behind?

The question is, is that really important? *g* And yes, I don't think that Sam sees Dean completely either (neither does Dean see Sam entirely), that's what I meant with he still has to grow up. But then I also think, that Sam respects their differences. And afterall you usually love people because they are *different* from you *g*

I think he kind of sees his father mirrored in Dean,

yes, that might be indeed the case .. on a subconscious level. Even though I also have to say, I don't see it on the show (Asylum ignored).

or maybe Dean brings back those memories of him being the "freaky" kid who didn't get the extra cookies. (Am *I* still on topic? *lol*) Dean is part of a life he desperately wanted to leave behind.

Yeah, but the thing is, leaving it behind is not really an option, is it? And there we're back to Sam growing up...

Don't you? To me it's kind of obvious, really. Dean probably took care of Sam all his life, possibly a lot of the times when their father went missing.

Maybe? that's fanon to me. We never saw that on the show.

He's used to give the orders. He probably "inhertited" their father's authority.

If you look the boys working together, Dean is not giving more orders than Sam does. (That's what I meant with "I don't get it.") Sometimes Sam follows along and sometimes Dean does. They're equals really. The difference is the reason why they are doing the things they do - but this difference is mostly an illusion if you ask me.

To him it's clear that they need to follow their father's orders. Maybe Sam even belittles Dean because he never stood up to his father but always did what he said. It's hard to explain, but for some reason I can really connect to Sam on that level.

Yeah, I get that, too. And yes it's there... The thing is, since we've never seen the past, it's hard to say why Dean acts the way he acts. If he's really just Daddy's soldier, or if he actually does it for his own reasons (to save people, because he actually does care a lot more than he lets on.)

And he doesn't want to be like Dean who (in his opinion) only does what he's being told. It doesn't matter if Dean actually does boss him around.

But's that what Sam mainly accused him of - of bossing him around. I mean, he wouldn't just shoot him for following daddy's orders..

Just to make sure - you're talking about the actual gun trigger, right?

yep.

I thought that was pretty good, actually.

oh, it was. I really enjoyed it. Except for that trigger thing.

I think it was way better if Sam would have put down that gun, that would have been lame.

Yeah, but that also means that Sam *wants* Dean dead. Which is creepy. And OOC if you ask me.

What I think is way more interesting that Dean didn't even give him a loaded gun - he didn't trust Sam.

LOL! how, true. But then I guess Dean has better survival instincts than Sam. And if you had the choice, would you have given him the loaded gun? Up to that point, he couldn't have been sure if it was still Sam or if he was indeed possessed. So he probably had to go with "possessed". (But god, must it have been devastating finding out later that Sam was indeed still Sam.)

I mean, Dean is like an open book

Yeah it's kind of endearing, really.

*g* yes, though I also think, it's Jensen. His acting style is always very "readable".

You're not telling me baby Sam had sex with his mother, do you? .o)

LOL! No, I'm not. That's actually the hole in the theory. Except, if you think that babies can love unconditionally, too.

btw, did you ever read the genderbending fics?

You see, I slash them, because I *really* believe they love each other unconditionally.

Maybe that's why I don't slash them *lol*

The question is, is that really important?

Oh I think it is. There's a difference whether you respect someone for being a good athlete or for his character...or because he happens to be your brother.

Yeah, but the thing is, leaving it behind is not really an option, is it? And there we're back to Sam growing up...

Well I never said he was right, did I? And yeah I think he's running which he shouldn't be.

Maybe? that's fanon to me. We never saw that on the show.

BUT apparently there's this page in the father's diary that says something along of "Every morning I find Dean in Sam's cradle, embracing him like he's trying to protect him from whatever's out there."

The difference is the reason why they are doing the things they do

That's true. So maybe Sam just thinks he's being bossed around because Dean is STILL following their father's orders, without even questioning him, so it's like he's being bossed around by his father again. It's more than just in Asylum. Through all the episodes Sam is the one who wants to find their father and Dean is willing to do as he's told by his father - doing the job. To me that's mainly why they're doing all the hunting, if it was up to Sam they'd just be looking for John.

Yeah, but that also means that Sam *wants* Dean dead. Which is creepy. And OOC if you ask me.

Not necessarily. I don't think that police officer wanted his wife dead, either. That was the "posession". What's definitely there is the hatred, though.

But god, must it have been devastating finding out later that Sam was indeed still Sam.

Yeah. And no way Dean believes the "I didn't mean any of it" rubbish.

g* yes, though I also think, it's Jensen. His acting style is always very "readable".

Hmmm might be, I haven't paid too much attention to his acting on Smallville *cough* . I really like the way he plays Dean, though. It's somewhere between tough man and scared little boy. Sort of - vulnerable.

btw, did you ever read the genderbending fics?

Maybe that's why I don't slash them *lol*

rofl. I think it's still a matter of taste.
Btw, I get what your point. You see the fun thing about Sam/Dean slash is that the fics are usually about them *realizing* their love for each other. Because right now in canon, they do not... So yeah, you're also right.

or because he happens to be your brother.

Agreed, but I really don't think either of them is the type to just respect someone because "society tells him to". I really think they would act a lot differently if there wasn't love/respect basis to their relationship. Those two "connect", and I've seen enough people who are related but do not "connect" at all.
And I could get into the whole Ackles/Padalecki friendship - and the fact that they do have *chemistry* - which just "bleeds" into the whole Sam/Dean dynamic.

"Every morning I find Dean in Sam's cradle, embracing him like he's trying to protect him from whatever's out there."

I've never bothered to read the journal. Though I think I've read *that* phrase - and laughed my ass off. (They really should know better than to feed the slashers.)

Through all the episodes Sam is the one who wants to find their father and Dean is willing to do as he's told by his father - doing the job. To me that's mainly why they're doing all the hunting, if it was up to Sam they'd just be looking for John.

I think that was true for the first three/four (?) episodes - later Sam obviously is looking for other cases, too - and doesn't mind staying and helping. Which of course probably has to do with the fact that the trail is cold... But the question is, if they don't know where to go to find Daddy, *why* is Sam still with Dean? *g*

That was the "posession". What's definitely there is the hatred, though.

But the whole point was, that there was no possession. It was all anger. And okay, maybe it acted as an accelerator. But Sam crossed the line... and that being the one line you do *not* cross with people you love.

Hmmm might be, I haven't paid too much attention to his acting on Smallville *cough*

LOL! me neither. (It's on my re-watch list, though). I never really connected with Jason... but then there was Lana.. and the bad writing that is SV.

Oh bugger - I forgot! I will do that later, or tomorrow! (Sorry first there was christmas, then I was ill...)

No need to apologize.. I'm just still curious how you're going to react.

By the way, discussing with you is really fun. Just wanted to say :o)

Right back at ya : ) Really, if I didn't like it, we wouldn't be talking, believe me *g*

[btw, I also keep wondering if you would be interested to attend one of our sleepover/weekend meetings (we have them once or twice a year). It's actually a slash meeting, but we're always talking about a lot more than slash - and we've had other people there who weren't really into slash, too.
And it might be fun to meet in RL. And I think you would fit right in *g* You just would have to come to Mainz. Mareen would probably be there too. At least she was so far *g*]

Because right now in canon, they do not... So yeah, you're also right.

Cheers for once in my life I was right! *lol* And basically that was what I meant - course they do love each other but only subconsciously. Or Sam probably more subconsciously than Dean. It's the way Dean keeps calling Sam "Sammy" that tells how much he cares for him. Of course it could be the whole "I can't see my brother's grown" thing but whenever Sam gets hurt (like - every ep) it sounds really affectionate somehow.

And I could get into the whole Ackles/Padalecki friendship - and the fact that they do have *chemistry* - which just "bleeds" into the whole Sam/Dean dynamic.

I've never seen those two outside their roles but I assumed they were good friends, you just... you can really see it on screen. They just work as a team if you see what I mean.

I've never bothered to read the journal. Though I think I've read *that* phrase - and laughed my ass off. (They really should know better than to feed the slashers.)

Neither do I, Ijust found that quote somewhere. And was thinking of all the slashers right away :p

But the question is, if they don't know where to go to find Daddy, *why* is Sam still with Dean? *g*

Well let me guess YOUR answer to that :p

Seriously, maybe he just can't go back to college anymore. Or deep down in his heart with Dean is the only place where he feels safe now... (Overinterpreting? ME? *g*)

It was all anger. And okay, maybe it acted as an accelerator. But Sam crossed the line... and that being the one line you do *not* cross with people you love.

He was kind of posessed. And still I think it's not so much Dean he hates but his father, and he sees his father in Dean. Ergo, as he was in a huge huge rage he pulled that trigger. He went amok. And like I said, I don't think that police officer really wanted to kill his wife, either.

(It's on my re-watch list, though). I never really connected with Jason...

Actually my first thought when Jason turned up was "Oh look! They've found her a Whitney substitute!" (Because I must be the only person in Germany who really liked Whitney and is still pissed off because they wrote him out). And don't get me started on Lana *shudders*

No need to apologize.. I'm just still curious how you're going to react.

Aaaand the verdict is in!

I didn't like The Slippery Slope too much but "Man! I feel like a woman" was really funny, surprisingly :o) Poor Dean having cramps, I could so see that. Heh I think they're really funny, as long as they go shopping and whatnot but...the rest is kind of weird. I wonder if I'd even possibly be more into Wincest actually. Got any good recs there, maybe? *sheepish grin*

I also keep wondering if you would be interested to attend one of our sleepover/weekend meetings

Oooooh? Heh that feels like being invited to a secret....sisterhood or something :o) But yes, definitely!

And I think you would fit right in *g*

*bites lip* You think so? Even though I only watch like - three shows, have never seen Babylon 5 AND still kind of like Lost? (Just making sure ;o) )
