Exciting GoT Casting News
I just found this and thought I'd share:

HBO’s Game of Thrones has made its first casting hire for season 2:

Natalie Dormer, who memorably played the seductive and doomed Anne Boleyn on Showtime’s The Tudors, has been added to the fantasy drama’s regular cast. Dormer will play Margaery Tyrell [...].

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees!!! I have no idea who that character is (nor do I want to know) but I adore Natalie Dormer and I'm very excited to hear she'll join the cast. She was fantastic on The Tudors, and aside from Rupert she was the absolute highlight on Silk for me. W00t.

Winter Is Nigh
The "Song of Ice and Fire" fans on my flist will be delighted to learn that there is a release date for the new book. In case you hadn't heard yet. The date has even been confirmed by GRR Martin on his LJ. (From what I gather this equals a small miracle because Mr Martin has been suffering from a bad case of writer's block for years.)

I'm still not overly curious about the books* though I may give them another chance. However, the trailers? Holy crap. I can't wait. It looks amazing. I'm so excited Lena Headey is in it. At least axing The Sarah Connor Chronicles resulted in something good.

Watch this trailer and pull your cloaks tighter, for winter is coming.

And yes, my Arthur icon actually is the most appropriate I have for this post :D

*started to read the first one; didn't like it.

You Can Always Count on HBO. (Mild Spoilers for "Game Of Thrones. The Kind You Want to Read)

There are plenty of gay characters in A Song of Fire and Ice, a series of fantasy novels currently being adapted by HBO for television, the first season of which will be called A Game of Thrones. But what was a little more subtle in the books will be much more apparent in the series.
