A Few Good Fanvid Recs
I've submitted three vids for [livejournal.com profile] festivids so far and a fourth is almost done. \0/ Golive is around the 20th--January 21st, I think--so I thought I'd compile a wee list of fanvids that I've enjoyed in the past few months, before fandom gets flooded with more fantastic vids.

A Girl A Boy And A Graveyard by [livejournal.com profile] obsessive24 (Covert Affairs // Spoilers through season 1)
Auggie/Annie and the cutest thing I'd seen in a while. I also love the song. I actually went ahead and bought the entire album.

Gravity by [livejournal.com profile] lsw700 (Downton Abbey // Spoilers through all seasons and the Christmas special)
Mary/Matthew. I loved the use of voiceovers. This show needs more vids.

I Want It All by [livejournal.com profile] bananainpyjamas (Friday Night Lights // spoilers for seasons 1-4)
Smash character study. Smash was never my favourite character on the show and rap isn't my favourite kind of music, but this mash-up with Queen rocks and the vid is fantastic. The choice of song is flawless, believe me.

Identical Snowflakes by [livejournal.com profile] icepixie (Fred Astaire & Ginger Rogers movies)
Astaire and Gingers dancing. I love how this vid celebrates these classic movies--they get way too little love these days.

Glósóli by [livejournal.com profile] such_heights (Doctor Who // Spoilers for season 4-6)
A vid about the characters and symbolism on the show. And it's just so very pretty. It gives me aaaall the feelings. If I could marry this vid I probably would.

Okay, got that rec list out of my system. Bring it on, [livejournal.com profile] festivids.

Return to Downton Abbey
Downton Abbey season two trailer.

The show returns in less than two weeks! I'm so looking forward to it; I would probably watch this for the cast alone. Luckily, it's a really excellent show, too :D

The song used in this is Scala's lovely cover of With Or Without You, by the way. I'm usually not a big fan of covers, but Scala's rather quiet and subtle choir arrangements are just lovely. It's such an amazing choice of music for the trailer, too.
