*happy sigh*
I returned home to find a link to this picture in my inbox (thanks again, [livejournal.com profile] liz_mo, for thinking of me :-) ).

He looks perfect. I knew he'd make a fantastic Bilbo (he was, after all, the only actor I could instantly picture as Bilbo) but seeing this first photo has me in all sorts of glee. Perfect! Perfect! Perfect!

He is as perfect as I imagined him to be. But what also intrigued me about the picture was ->Richard as a dwarf - couldn't think of how that might look like, now I can see a glimpse of it in the background.

Btw, I think he is the dwarf upfront, too. The dwarf has his eyes... says my spider-sense.

That's what I thought. Plus it would make sense if Thorin was the "dwarf most on display", so to say.

Yes, exactly! Though from what I can tell here it lookes like they aged him, do you think?

Hm, difficult to say. I'm not sure. The thing is also - dwarf skin is a bit more... tougher than the skin of humans, hobbits or elves. I hope I didn't insult any dwarves now.

Yes, very true. It's...uhm...more wrinkled?

Wrinkled, yeah! Makes it so much stronger and harder *looks for angry dwarves*

Maybe that is the reason why he looks a bit aged. I hope his skin doesn't react to the prosthetics like JRD's back on the filming of LOTR.

God, yes. That would be terrible.
