Stonehenge Apocalypse
Yesterday I finally got around to watch Stonehenge Apocalypse with a couple of friends. Knowing that we would most likely not be able to survive the badness of this film each on our own, we'd decided to meet up, get Chinese takeout and point and laugh at the film together. Wise choice. Because the film is so bad. You have to actually see it just to grasp how bad it truly is. No review could have prepared me for this. Oh Misha. Speaking of Misha, here's a few theories why he agreed to be in this film:

  • Supernatural pays him so little the poor guy was starving and living in a flat without heating. Hanging on to dear life, he had to take the money SyFy was offering.
  • He did this film out of boredom on the weekends because they promised him he could also do the computer animations.
  • He agreed because he finally got to wear clothes in a film that are similar to his regular clothes. Photographic Evidence )
  • All of the above.

I'm quite impressed that he managed to say his lines with a straight face, really.

And here's a fun theory: half of Torri Higginson's lines were actually from old SGA's scripts so she didn't have to memorise new ones and attempt a British accent. Or whatever that was supposed to be.

    Anyway, FUN TIMES.

To regain our brain cells and to end the evening with a wonderful, smart film [livejournal.com profile] elli and I then watched City of Ember. I love this film. It's amazing.

    Holy Redundant Spin-Off, Batman!
Wow, I think even the NCIS spin-off--though I'm not watching--may have more of a point than the Criminal Minds one they tried to get us interested in with the recent episode. Seriously, what was that? Who the Hell are these people and what exactly is it what they do? And what makes it so different from normal police work? Anyone? Bueller?

Cute British guy might be a reason to watch. The rest...not so much.

    WTF? BEN! MAX!
OKAY, so the other day a trailer for Hitman was on TV and I just thought, "Wow, they ripped off Dark Angel scenes pretty well." And now the film's actually on TV and...the opening credits actually ARE scenes from Dark Angel. I'm not even kidding. My jaw just dropped a few inches. I bet this is old news to most of you but Christ, I just saw Max's flight and wee!Ben pointing a gun at a Manticore guard in the opening credits for an action movie. O.O I mean, WTF?

As a result, I now have the urge to rewatch Dark Angel. Season one at least.
