"Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn."
Gone With the Wind was on all afternoon (literally all afternoon, given how long it is). I hadn't seen it in ages but damn...I love this movie. Meet my weak spot for Southern Belles, Southern gentlemen, cotton plantations, Civil War--and I'm not even an American. Hee. A re-reading of Mark Twain should be in order as well as finally reading Margaret Mitchell's novel. And reading [livejournal.com profile] pixel_0's wonderful fic that she wrote for my birthday again.

They don't make movies like this anymore.

You definitely should. Oh, and be prepared for some more children than in the movie. :)

*sighs* I was watching the movie, too. I would kill (well hurt) somebody to get the chance to wear a dress like that, where I have to watch every step I do. This is no Ironie I really want to do that!

You and me both. I've been wanting a dress like that since I was a kid. I actually keep looking a sewing patterns and how to build a "Reifrock" tutorials dreaming that one day I'll sew a dress like that.

First of all, thanks for adding me to your f-list :)
I'll have to admit that I've never seen "Gone with the Wind", but I think I should.
I love the south, I love the time it's set in, I love classic movies...so I should give it a try.

Hee, you're welcome :)

Well if you ignore the love arc of the film it's a great picture of the South and its passing and falling into ruins.

Now I'm curious and I guess I'll check out the DVD sooner or later. And I don't mind a love story in a movie at all!
