Oh my God *laughs*
Getting caught up with Doctor Who at the moment...and this in 4.13 made me laugh.

DALEKS TALK GERMAN! With horrible accents, of course, but... "Exterminieren! Exterminieren!"

*rolls on floor laughing*

Okay, continuing to watch now. I love all the random characters they're bringing back :D

ETA: And now Martha's talking German to a fake German...oh my *shakes head*

Current Mood: amused

lmao, yes, the german was funny. Loved how the first part of 'exterminieren' was still pronounced the english way. *giggles*

I really didn't think the accent was bad.^^ Maybe not natural, but actually very close.

There were so many things in this ep that made me laugh... more when you've seen it completely.^^

I loved it when the woman said "Zur Hölle mit dir!" That was a cool bit of informal speak :)

I found the German speaking Daleks funny, too. And at least they used correct sentences. Sure, with an English accent, but I think they at least tried and didn't just use it to make it sound German. Nazi!Daleks!

*giggles* Maybe they've come to destroy humankind, but they're doing it politely. :D

"Dürfte ich Sie bitte exterminieren?"

*gg*

I think they did a reasonably good job with the German. Though it is still debatable if it was necessary. But I was more amused by it than offended.

It wasn't that bad. I just winced everytime Martha said "Ich" because my mind kept going, "It's a SOFT 'ch', a SOFT 'ch'!!!"

Yeah, but just as most Germans have the problem with the "th", I think it is fair to leave them the problems with the soft "ch". And for Martha that even worked. I mean, it is not like her character is a German, so she just got some knowledge in the language and would not have that much practise.

I know but it still felt weird. Like, "THAT'S what our language sounds to other people."

Hehe. Yeah. But people keep saying that German is a hard, non romantic language.

LOL

Meerkats are cute. But actually [livejournal.com profile] darlakane is the real fan.

I just like cute animals, but she is obsessed. She even adopted some at the zoo Hannover. :D
