"You lot. You spend all your time thinking about dying, like you're going to get killed by eggs, or beef, or global warming, or asteroids. But you never take time to imagine the impossible. Like maybe you survive." ~Doctor Who

"Porthos dreams of being a bear, and you want to shatter those dreams by saying he’s just a dog? What a horrible candle-snuffing word. That’s like saying, “He can’t climb that mountain, he’s just a man”, or “That’s not a diamond, it’s just a rock.” Just." ~Finding Neverland

Btw, when you figure out which Sissel songs you want, just let me know, and give me your addy. I'll burn them on a cd and send them to you, it'll be easier than uploading lord knows how many files to ysl, or even one or two big zipped files. It takes ages for me:(
I do! I really really want to! But I'm kind of glad I couldn't this year, since my dad had his 50th birthday this weekend, when everything took place. Next year though, it shouldn't be a problem.
I guess i better start saving already:P A student's life is hard...
It is, it is... :p I think I shall start saving money soon as well...it's really worth it. Even though they had Richard Taylor and Billy Boyd there, there were only a couple of hundred fans and everything was very relaxed and the like...I don't expect it'll be like this on RingCon with at least 2000 fans coming...
I'll have to admit though, that to me it's less about the con and more about meeting my lj friends. It sounds really interesting, but if I had to live without it, I'd be perfectly fine.
I reckon it was fun in general. It was the combination you see... I think if I had the choice I'd much rather go to FF than to RingCon. But...my brother's a huge LOTR fan as well and I felt kind of sorry that I was going to a con and he wasn't so I said "Let's go to RingCon as well!" ... besides, I just want to know what it's like...
Yeah, I guess. To me, it's always been a 'lonely' experience, the movies and the book. The first time I saw the movies, I'd always bring my brother, so it's not like I didn't have company, and we've geeked out together, him and I, but I've never been a group person, and I've done most of my fangirling and geeking alone. I wouldn't care at all if I don't get the chance to go to RingCon next year either, I just want to meet Franks and stuff:) That'd be my main purpose for going to England. Or other persons in other countries of course:P
Absolutely. The only LOTR fan I know in real life is my brother as well, so going to the FF and meeting all these people with Franks was just great. I'd never go there on my ownsies I reckon :p
No, I'm not that big a fan...:P No going alone, no. It's just... I don't care. At all. I will be just as happy knowing I've never met any of the actors as I will be knowing I have met them, it simply makes no difference to me. It's Francine and the other people on my flist I want to see. Those are the ones I care about.
True. But then... I must admit I do really like meeting actors. And when Billy decided to go to RingCon last year and I couldn't go I was really sad for a day or so. But well, I got over it. And see, I wouldn't have gone there on my own.
I went to the FF because I could go with Francin... I would have never gone there on my own just to meet Billy. Just no.
Besides, these kind of memories are the nicest when you can share them with someone.
The only stupid thing is that it went on th weekend and on Monday - and we finish and start schools again much earlier than you do in both England and Germany. We've been going for a couple of weeks already. So it's not the best timing for me.
True. I'm lucky cause the semester break's roughly from end of July til beginning of October...
Yeah. I think what I'll remember forever won't be the fact that we met Billy but HOW we met him, together, I'll remember the laughing andthe squeeing and the getting up at 5:40AM to get an early train and...
