I wrote this yesterday for you because I suddenly felt inspired. It's a drabble thing. And it's Shawmie. For I know how much you like this pairing... :o)
Words & Smiles

When Geoffrey meets Jamie for the first time all that Jamie says is „How are you I’m fine thanks very much.” And he doesn’t even bother to wait for Geoffrey’s answer, or in fact, doesn’t care very much either. But he smiles at Geoffrey when the Englishman introduces himself and says something nice about his accent for even if Jamie’s got trouble with words, he understands when someone is kind. Or more, he understands when Geoffrey is kind. Which is a curious thing. Which is a new concept.
***
Geoffrey likes being with Jamie. He likes that Jamie doesn’t expect him to be funny and witty, for Jamie expects nothing from no one. Geoffrey doesn’t have to talk and speak and rant all day long. He can just be with the young Scotsman, watch him drawing his pirate pictures and think and be silent and just himself. Jamie’s room is astonishingly cozy and Geoffrey reckons that Jamie doesn’t mind him being here. They communicate without words. Mostly without gestures even. Geoffrey cannot explain it. They just do.
***
He could stare at Jamie for hours. He could watch these intense geen eyes that don’t even know how stunningly beautiful are for the rest of his life. How he’d like to ruffle that brown hair as it’s falling slightly untidied into Jamie’s forehead. And how he’d like to touch those soft, inviting lips. Jamie will never say a thing. Geoffrey knows. Jamie is not like him. Jamie is, in fact, very different.
***
Then, one evening, Geoffrey just makes a move, and leans foward and kisses Jamie, dares to ask for love that he knows will not be returned. As he’s expected, Jamie doesn’t return the kiss. But he doesn’t withdraw himself either, and Geoffrey’s got no clue what that means because, frankly, Jamie’s ways are still a mystery to him and always will be. But as Geoffrey loosens himself from the kiss, and leans back again, blushing and looking at Jamie in shame, with an expression in his eyes that says “Sorry for what I’ve done”, there is Jamie, seemingly not appalled at all, smiling at him him. He doesn’t speak. He just smiles. For a short moment, everything is perfect. And then, Jamie continues to draw the pirates.
