In Case You Wanted to Know What Filk Is...
...among other stuff, this is filk right here. Michelle Dockrey wrote a song about Firefly, and somebody made a fan video to it and put it on youtube, and guys you reeeeaaaally have to listen to this song if you like Firefly...or always wanted to know what Firefly is like. I'm still in awe.

I really need to write Firefly songs, too.

My favourite quote of the day...
"You know what your sin is, Mal?"
"Hell, I'm a fan of all seven."

Aw, you gotta love Serenity. That is, if you've seen Firefly. Otherwise I don't think there's much point in watching since you don't get all the inside jokes and allusions, or the whole concept of how the dynamics within the crew work :o)

Supposedly if you've seen over 105 movies, you have no life. Mark the ones you've seen. There are 176 movies on this list. Put your score in header and repost.
Apparently I DO have a life :o) )

And here's the same with TV Shows. I'm counting those I either watched for a while, watch every now and then or am an absolute fan of.

Ah, the memories. But where's seaQuest??? )

Also, after a month of reconsideration I've come to the conclusion I love Firefly. That show was a thing of beauty.

Oh Noes.
It's gonna be 32°C today? You're kidding me, right? AAAH!

So, I finally saw Serenity yesterday. I can understand why people who didn't know Firefly beforehand thought the movie was no good and lame. For an unsoiled audience the plot does move too fast, and Whedon spent almost no time on actually introducing the cast or how the dynamics within the crew work.

However if you know the series, the film's great. Still not "TEH BEST FILM EVAH!!!!111!" as some Whedon-minions would say, but yes I thought it was great. If you regard it as the season finale rather than a movie that can stand on its own. But I guess since the film was more or less made for the fans, that was also the purpose. Perhaps the plot and ending wasn't the work of a mastermind, but I liked the overall atmosphere of the film. It just worked.

As the series, Serenity had some outstanding moments. And a couple of times I was bawling my eyes out, especially by the end. Must. Get. DVD.

It appears many of my friends are psychic. Last night, after I'd finished Firefly I thought I'd really love to see Serenity. Today, [livejournal.com profile] mariloli brought it to university for me! Yay! I love it when my friends are psychic.

Randomly, I'm SO going to watch Heroes. (The picture looks a bit like a Lost advert, doesn't it?). And if only because Milo Ventimiglia is in it and I'm a pathetic little fangirl and I want to watch a new show this year. Anyone happen to know when it's gonna premier?

Righty. Off to shower, brief online meeting with Jana about our presentation tomorrow, possibly write some fic.

There's no place I can be, since I've found serenity.
Okay, so somewhere on disc three Firefly actually began to grow on me. Which meant I really enjoyed the last five episodes or so. I'll return the DVDs to [livejournal.com profile] mariloli tomorrow (that is, if fupid me doesn't forget to bring them), and I'm thinking about getting myself the box, too. There were quite some moments particularly in the last couple of episodes that were great writing.

I'm still not as head over heels for it than most on my flist, but yes, it's a shame it got cancelled right when it started to be good. Kinda like seaQuest, really.

Alright. I'm actually in the mood for Gilmore Girls now (man, I saw an interview with Lauren Graham yesterday and just how cool is she? And Alexis Bledel is really sweet, too...they're like Lorelai and Rory, only...not...) but I should be heading for bed. Hope I'l get more sleep tonight, seems everybody and their cat didn't find much sleep last night.

Me suspects the changing weather. I always like to blame evil sun, it's wicked and burns us.
