My father has been in hospital for 5 1/2 weeks now due to a pancreatitis, and he was operated last week. Well he told us 3 weeks ago that it could have been cancer which would have meant my brother and me soon would have been all alone ... at least without parents. What he did NOT tell us, however, was that when he was on the intensive care station when he first went to hospital, it was not only because the doctors wanted to watch him closely, but because they did not know whether he would survive the pancreatitis. His chances were like 50/50. And to make matters worse, the operation last week was not as easy and safe as he had told my brother and me before.
So.
I could have been an orphan by now. Gosh.
That really makes the world stop for a while.
