According to imdb.com Nicole Kidman was casted for Mrs Coulter in The GoldenCompass. I'm sure I'm the last to notice but what do you think of that choice? And the new James Bond dude will play Lord Asriel...I think that really fits at least.

Nicole Kidman was the obvious choice for the role but I can't believe they cast Daniel Craig for Lord Asriel. He's supposed to be a Gentleman. A Gentleman who cares about nothing but his personal crusade (and Mrs Coulter) but a Gentleman nonetheless. I just can't imagine this guy in that role.
imo the perfect Lord Asriel would have been Jason Isaacs.
