The Adventures Of Dean, The Closet Harry Potter Fan - Drabble VII
In celebration of the fact that the heat has cooled down a little, I come bearing another drabble :-)
Title: Chimes

Chimes
„Okay, time for new music.“ Sam proclaims and reaches for the box with Dean’s music cassettes collection. The past two hours they’ve been listening to AC/DC repeatedly and Sam feels like his ears are going to explode if he hears “Thunderstruck” one more time. He digs into the box, picking up every cassette so he can read the label on it.
Metallica. AC/DC. Black Sabbath. Blue Öyster Cult... the list goes on. Sam rolls his eyes and then his gaze meets another music cassette. And it’s got no label on it.
“Dude, what’s on this one?” Sam holds it up and a hint of true shock flickers across Dean’s face before he quickly replies: “Nothing.”
“Nothing as in...?”
“As in nothing. Nada. Nichts.”
Sam makes a disbelieving “Pfffth” sound and shakes his head. Before Dean can do anything against it Sam’s already put the cassette into the radio. First there’s silence. Dean looks as if he’s about to bang his head on the steering wheel in despair. Then there’s music. Some sort of...classical music. Strings. And chimes.
Sam frowns. “O-kay. Dean? Want to enlighten me what the hell that is?”
“The Harry Potter soundtrack.” Dean mutters. “And now shut up.”

Dean would soo be a Harry Potter fan (and it is a good soundtrack).
Haven't read the other drabbles yet, but will definitely do so.
This reminds me, on the show Dean is always referring to Sammy as his geek brother.
I feel Sam needs to earn that title. We should definitely see more of Sam geeking out.

And yes, Sam would be into LotR. The law and Stanford student in him would love all the different languages, races, complicated agendas and politics. Whereas HP is more Dean's speed. More straight-forward, dark too, but more fun.
