Mmm.. actually I think they *do* respect each other. It's just probably on a subconscious level. Okay, maybe that's me because I think they compliment each other

Hmmm I dunno whether I made myself clear enough. Of course there is love and respect but - to me it's more the "we're related so I have to" level. I could imagine Sam respects Dean as a good hunter which he doubtlessly is but on the real "emotional" level? Does he think Dean is a good, caring person who is terrified of being left behind? I think he kind of sees his father mirrored in Dean, or maybe Dean brings back those memories of him being the "freaky" kid who didn't get the extra cookies. (Am *I* still on topic? *lol*) Dean is part of a life he desperately wanted to leave behind.

But you see, the problem is, that with Jess dying, Sam "became" his father - and all his bitching about Daddy and their way of life makes him a kind of an hypocrite.

Oh I hadn't really thought about that apart from the obvious of course.

Because he doesn't. And I don't even really get why Sam would feel that way.

Don't you? To me it's kind of obvious, really. Dean probably took care of Sam all his life, possibly a lot of the times when their father went missing. He's used to give the orders. He probably "inhertited" their father's authority. To him it's clear that they need to follow their father's orders. Maybe Sam even belittles Dean because he never stood up to his father but always did what he said. It's hard to explain, but for some reason I can really connect to Sam on that level. And he doesn't want to be like Dean who (in his opinion) only does what he's being told. It doesn't matter if Dean actually does boss him around.

(But then I generally have problems with the fact that he pulled *that* trigger.

Just to make sure - you're talking about the actual gun trigger, right?

I thought that was pretty good, actually. I mean first there was the therapy lesson which kind of opened Pandora's box. Then there was the "being posessed" thing and of course Dean's "We only follow Dad's orders!" ... it quite piled up. I think it was way better if Sam would have put down that gun, that would have been lame. What I think is way more interesting that Dean didn't even give him a loaded gun - he didn't trust Sam.

I mean, Dean is like an open book

Yeah it's kind of endearing, really.

(Which means will Dean end up at the ceiling once they have sex ; )

You're not telling me baby Sam had sex with his mother, do you? .o)

That would be interesting if Dean and Daddy had different opinions...

Yup. And I would also like to see whether Dean's just Daddy's little soldier or whether they have this inside-jokes-we're-mates thing going on.
