Does Harry Potter express raciest views? Of course. Should J.K. Rowling be frowned upon for this? I don't think so. She's British, she just can't help it. . . its bred into them. She probably doesn't even know she's doing it, and it's not as if she's actually making any derogatory statements against any actual race, so really in the end who cares?

by SCrow:Well, to go back to the original point about Harry Potter being a racist, the book certainly has some elements that could definatly be interpreted as Nazi related symbols. For example, Snape's initials are S.S. which relates to the Schutzstaffel from the holocaust. Another S.S. related point is Harry's scar, which looks alot like the tag in which the S.S. had on their uniform. I also agree with the original point of this arguement, that being the connection between the half-blood and pure-blood to Naziism. I agree it is just a book but there alot more to the book then justthe story.

And THEN they go round drawing comparisons to "Mein Kampf" by Hitler and act all smart-arsey...WTF???

And besides? Don't talk about stuff you don't have a clue about just because you've seen Saving Private Ryan and Schindler's List you morons.

I almost feel offended by that rubbish. I live in the country that was ruled by Nazis and caused millions of deaths. Comparing Harry Potter to Mein Kampf is like a slap into my face.

Nah what pisses me off that they pretend to be all super educated but they're not. People claiming they totally know about US politics because they've read one Michael MOore book piss me off juat as much.

I mean, it's okay if you ship Hr/h ... to each their own. But to actually try to prove something in canon that is obviously so NOT canon and then feel betrayed by the AUTHOR? HUH?

My favourite sentence so far must be:

Oh and yes... Harry's S-sharped scar and Snape's initials probably mean they're like...father and son. Or something.

OMG Thats how the Lilly/Snape Shippers will prove that Harry is Snapes Son!!

And isn't it just funny how these obsessive Hr/H shippers try to read their ship into every book though it's been so clear from book 1 on that RON AND HERMIONE WILL END UP TOGETHER???

I Know! I mean I ship Draco/Harry (sometimes) and I can read alot into the books, but it was clear that there would be Ron/Hr and Harry/someonefemal *lol*

YES! Argh thats so stupid. And how can they say the book is bad written just because the pairings suck? But what am I talking about. I heard people say that an episode of Lost sucked because of the lack of Sawyer. The fuck? O.o It´s about the story and not aobut the ships and good-looking persons.

And gosh. They have fanfiction. My Pairings will only exist in this alternate world. Who cares as long as I get my ~~Porn~~ fiction.

Yes AMEN to that. I mean I write this huge complicated angsty HP ff that's completely ship-free (except for R/H because they're just MEANT to be together and it's canon), and all one girl had to say about it was "Are Sirius & Remus together?" ... I mean... I didn't even HINT at that. *headdesk*

Though the C/C shippers sometimes scare me just as much. Too many little fangirls with too much hormones. Actually Claire and Hermione aren't that different anyway. Duh.
