My most interesting read this evening...
A pretty personal statement by Javi about David Fury and Lost, and where it's going.

I especially found the bits about Hurley's and Locke's actually planned backgroundstory very interesting.

And also:

- we know the show will end when we reveal the true makeup of the island and why our characters landed there.

I read that earlier too and found it fascinating, but everything that man writes is fascinating! It's so interesting to read about the process of writing and the versions they discard before they get to the story as we see it.

Ok I'll stop spamming you now :p

Noooooooo keep spamming me!!! Please! *pulls you back*

That essay really blew me away so to say. I mean HOW great is it that the executive producer of Lost (or whatever he is... well one of the BIG ONES :p ) talks SO openly about his work? And I mean, he told us a LOT I think...more than other people would give away...

Isn't it weird? I don't know if it happens in other fandoms and if LJ has taken off as a way for 'big people' (for want of a better word) and fans to communicate, but I didn't even know Javi was on LJ until a couple of days ago and was amazed by that on its own - and I really didn't expect to see him pouring his heart out like that. He's fantastic. The more I read, the more impressed I am. Not that I'm about to fangirl all over his journal... ;)

Re: *spams*
It's completely weird. I mean - I have one of Lost's BIG people... and EMMY winner... on my flist. And he's just so cool, you know? He even once menioned whom from his flist he'd met on a convention and also said he tried to read all our LJ's O_O

Course not ;o)

Huh. Interesting...

I'm still sad Fury's gone off to 24, cause Walabout was seriously the best episode of the season. Do you know what other one he wrote...? *can't remember*

I read that interview, too, and not for a second do I doubt that Fury is saying the truth. You can see the "No Masterplan" right there in the way the show is playing out, it doesn't even need a David Fury to say it out loud.

Having a beginning and an end for a show (and this is the one thing I don't doubt they have for Lost) does not equal a Masterplan.

Yeah I knew you'd say that. I still have faith into the writers, though :o)

I respect people who speak that honest, hopefully he doesn't get in any trouble. If media guys read this they can make up nasty Lost-feud-article.

I love Javi ...

I don`t know if Fury meant his statement in the way Javi interpreted it, but yeah... thats between them.

And I would call it a masterplan ;) They know the ending, they know what the monster is, they know whats up with the island and why the charas landed there. I mean. What else should they have to know.

When I`m writing I mostly know the ending and why important things are happening. But my characters develop themselves over the process of writing. So yeah. The masterplan is there! *g*
