I desperately want a new LJ layout but I think I might have lost my drive. Bugger. *wants sexy layout with Dom goodness rather badly*

Just saw a BBC documentary about paparazzi. It's an issue that really pisses me off. The whole thing is just so hypocritic. And no, I don't mean the every day people who claim that papparazzi is bad and then sneak out to buy the latest issue of Hello Magazine. The celebs are who piss me off.

You ignorant fuckers, you live on publicity. You chose this job. You decided to become famous. No don't come running around complaining. If paparazzi are so unbearable, then quit your jobs. And give your poshy mansions and English castles back.

Maybe you didn't consider loss of privacy was such a great sacrifice when you dreamt of being a famous actor/actress/singer/whoever. Well, that's bad luck. Be careful what you wish for is all I've got to say to that.

ETA: Managed to do snazzy new top graphic for my LJ. *drools*

*pats you*

First you have to do the single jpeg pictures... saying for example:
1. I
2. I LOVE
3. I LOVE YOU

Then open a new file and put these pictures upon another in the exact order you want the text to appear. Save this new file as psd.

Go to Image Ready and open that file. Make sure you open the window "Animation" as well. There, underneath the single pictures, you must tell the programm to repeat the pictures an unlimited number of times, and you can also decide how long each picture needs to be shown. (er yes excuse my messy instructions please I only have the German versions) ... Then go to "save new file as" and save it as a gif. Voila.

:o)

Lost your drive, says you...? Well.... why don´t we see if we can´t come up with something inspirational for your layout later then? :o)

As for the paparazzi thing... well, I think there are reasonable limits to everything. Being famous do mean you have to be prepared to accept the media taking an interest in you on a professional level. However, I do not think that means you have to accept an invation of your privacy.

...or shopping or something like that, IN HOLLYWOOD, yes yes. It´s when the paparazzy climbs trees and bushes to spy on you in your own home or they follow you by car wherever you go that I think you should be allowed to put your foot down. I think that everyone is entitled to some privacy no matter what you do for a living.

Well... I dunno about that. How do you DECIDE to become famous? Fame isn´t a profession in itself. I think that you decide to become an actor or a siger and you go for it with all your passion. It´s not given that you´ll be so sucessful that you´ll be world famous and have lots of paparazzis after you. I don´t even think people think of that as a factor when deciding a profession. "Guuuh, I really wanna be a singer and sing pop tunes, but.... I really shouldn´t, cause what if the paparazzis start to follow me? No... I´d better start working at the post office instead." I REALLY don´t think that´s how it works. ;o)

*shrug* I just think if you earn lots and lots of millions paparazzi is just something you have to deal with. I'm not saying it's okay if paparazzi climb over fences to get get the latest snapshot of you in your underwear at home...but if your name is Madonna and you go shopping somewhere with your kids...

Besides they seem to forget that they live in this publicity. It's what makes Hollywood pay 15 mio. dollars per film...

I agree with [Unknown site tag] on this paparazzi thing.
I mean there are reasonable limits, but sometimes you wonder... many famous people manage to not get their children photographed, like Ewan *g* And I can understand if people like him would get angry with paparazzi(s?) But people like Madonna... I mean... they behave like they want to be photographed all the time. It's just a thing of attitude.

Argh it's too early to discuss something like that.

Well I don't think it's right to take photos of someone's children because it's not their fault their parents are famous. I just don't like hypocrits like Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan who sing songs about how miserable they are when in fact they wouldn't be famous at all if it wasn't for that paparazzi...

I almost completely agree with your comments, but the paparazzi can go too far sometimes. I agree that by choosing to become an actor/singer/whatever, you invite publicity, but I heard about an instance involving Lindsay Lohan, where paparazzi were so eager to get news, they crashed into her car while she was driving, and then took photos of her distress. There needs to be a line drawn between publicity and news-mongering (did you just think of Eomer and his 'war-mongering'?!)

Oh, you're right - people have no excuse for moaning about that. Especially when you hear stories about people like Johnny Depp, who live unobtrusive lives and therefore aren't troubled by the paparazzi. Even if you're a celebrity, you don't have to live in the public eye all the time!

Hehe, I'll use Johnny's name to justify using an icon of his hotness.

Oh wow! Your lj header is droolsome!!! You are so good at graphics!!

Yes, that's true about celebs. I don't buy celeb magazines, they just don't interest me that much. They often say they've always dreamed of being famous, but it's not a choice you can just turn off when you've had enough & they don't seem to understand that.
