I Love You, British Film
Kindly pointed out to me by [livejournal.com profile] moonilicious and [livejournal.com profile] elli. Parked starring Colm Meaney (yay!) and Colin Morgan (yay!). I found the trailer utterly beautiful. This looks like one of those "quiet" but unusual movies I might just completely adore. I hope it's going to be out very soon.

(Random question: what accent is Colin sporting in this? *curious*)

Current Mood: curious

He's using a Southern Irish accent (Colin is from North Ireland) and I hear he's doing a very good job of it.

Ah, that makes sense! I probably would have recognised the Dublin one, but all the other Irish accents sort of blur together into one for me :-) So it's set in Ireland? *draws little hearts*

I had no idea he's from Ireland! Clearly, I must read up on this stuff. :D

Yes, this defnitely looks like a movie that I'd like. And Colm Meanay and Collin Morgan? This sounds promising.

Looks possibly like an Irish film, rather than British (though Colin is British, being Northern Irish, he is playing as from the Republic of Ireland, therefore not British). :p Does look interesting though, I hadn't heard about that.

Also, you need to find some clips of Colin talking in his normal accent. It's a bit of a shock to me sometimes though (on the documentary they did in Wales he uses his normal voice).

I didn't know it was set in Ireland :P Maybe it got British funding, which would make it part-British? You never know! :P

Since I couldn't sleep all night I watched tons of clips with them and awww, his accent is adorable :D I had no idea he was an Irish lad! Bless.

OMG! Thanks for bringing this one to my attention. Colm Meaney is just beyond wonderful and the idea of this movie... Apparently, there are still some plot lines that are new. Whee!

I know, right? I actually thought, "I've never seen this storyline done before. AMAZING!"

Exactly! And just that shot in the trailer where the camar pulls back to reveal only two cars on that lot. Amazing.

I think that it's an Eire accent. But I could be wrong - it's set in Ireland I think!

Apparently it's set in Southern Ireland...intriguing!

Eire = Southern Ireland. :)

I thought Eire was the Republic of Ireland, and then I thought that Southern Ireland meant like--the South of Eire, like Cork or Kerry...:-)

But this is getting very complicated. UK, GB, Britain...I'm never sure what includes what :P Even though I've studied it and all.

Great Britain/ Britain (same thing) = England, Scotland, Wales.

UK = England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland. (Remember as the full title is the 'United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland') though don't worry, a lot of British people get it mixed up!

Yeah. I like finding indie film jewels. Britain's got tons like those, or so it seems.

I'll agree with everyone else. Colin Morgan sounds as though he is speaking in a Southern Irish (as in not-Northern Irish) or Eirean accent. I couldn't tell you which one. You probably need to watch the movie to find out. :)

Poor me. I'll guess I'll just have to buy the DVD when it comes out. Woe is me *wink* :-)
