I know the World Wildlife Federation actually has trips you can take up into Canada to go on "bear watches" and what not, but they're ridiculously expensive

I have recently read Beauty Tips from Moose Jaw: Excursions in the Great Weird North and one of the chapters is about such a tour. They remodeled school busses to make tour busses out of them and have people sleep in those. Doesn't sound like my kind of fun, as much as I like polar bears. Especially since they don't garantee that you will see one.

Oh yeah. Which, I get because they're bears, but the irrational part of me kind of wishes they were more soft and cuddly.

Exactly!

Although, I wonder if a car can stop a polar bear, y'know?

Not sure about the glass, but the metal on the cars (it is more like small trucks up there and they don't have these tiny Japanese cars anyway) probably holds up and the bear can't reach in the middle of the car? Or they lose interest when they can't smell you properly anymore? I read it is supposed to help. Of course not me, cause I only have a scooter. ;)
