I'm probably just more sappier than usual at the moment due to PMS but...
Isn't it awesome how much you still can love films that you used to be mad about when you were but a kid? Yesterday -I don't know why- I suddenly remembered my Land Before Time videotape, and that I hadn't watched it for over 10 years and guess what I did? Exactly. Put into my VCR recorder and sobbed like a baby. For the first time I realised it's very much like An American Tail actually (same atmosphere, same music) - naturally, both films being Don Bluth productions. I love both those films, they're just great GREAT animation films with endearing characters and a unique storyline. I even like those better than the Disneymovies, Lion King being the only exception maybe. A shame Don Bluth then decided to make lots of crappy sequels...
I think a possible reason why I love old animation films (Disney AND Don Bluth) still so much is, that they just seem to be made so much more carefully than 'usual' movies. They usually have an interesting plot, a lot of humour mixed with more dramatic moments, they have these LOVELY characters and they're so... encouraging you know? Bravery, friendship... *gets all mushy*
Ach I believe I'll NEVER grow too old for these kinds of movies...hopefully :o)
I think Land Before Time will always have a special place in my heart...cause my first ever own story I wrote when I was about in 3rd grade or so revolved around that film, about Littlefoot and Cera. I believe I still have it somewhere...
Okay sappy entry of the month *lol*
