In celebration of The Tudors season four starting soon I thought I'd post the opening credits of the show, which I'm incredibly fond of. The music, the editing, the choice of scenes used to set the atmosphere...I only wish they'd continue with the show. It's merely called The Tudors, not Henry VIII and it's not like Mary and Elizabeth weren't Tudors...

TUDORS!TUDORS!TUDORS!

Honestly, I'd love to spend time with you and do some serious fangirling/history!geeking.... (I'm almost SORRY that this season will be the last - like, "why can't there be five more wives? I like this show so much!!!")
But isn't Tamzin Merchant just *brilliant* as Catherine Howard? F***, I'd never believe she's 23.... And the evolution in Henry - as well as how JRM portrays him - from season 1 up to now is amazing. Before Tudors, I never thought much of him (other than the rumore/scandals you hear of) but now he really intrigues me.

I only wish they'd continue with the show. It's merely called The Tudors, not Henry VIII and it's not like Mary and Elizabeth weren't Tudors...

Hm. Hadn't thought of that before, somehow it was always like an open-and-shut case to me that the show's concept merely focussed on Henry (and wives). But, yeah, it could be expanded to Mary and Elizabeth...both maybe they think that's all been covered in the Elizabeth movie (which I don't think it has! THere's so awfully much left out, no matter which novelization/movie treatise you turn to...)

I suppose I'll re-read my last Shardlake novel now that Howard and the Culpeper affair is on....

Yes, that music is nice. It reminds me of the theme Richard Harvey (I think) wrote for P D James' Commander Dalgliesh mysteries--same cello, same vaguely modal feel. Maybe not as Vaughan-Williamsy.

TV music is underrated. Thank you for sharing that.
